Jim has over twenty-five years experience in the human resource field. He currently is President of Bentley HR Development, a human resource consulting company. Jim specializes in ACT WorkKeys® job profiling in the States of Indiana and Michigan. In addition, he assists small and mid-size companies in the development of HR policy manuals and performance metrics.
Before starting his company, Jim was employed at Fort Wayne Newspapers for fifteen years as Vice President of Human Resources. In this capacity, he was responsible for organizational development, employment, compensation, benefits, HR policy design, EEOC and legal compliance, and productivity improvement.
Jim worked for Essex Group prior to FWN. He spent ten years in a variety of HR positions including assignments at the plant level, Essex corporate, and at Essex’s parent company--United Technologies corporate office. His experience included labor relations as well as general HR responsibilities at these locations.
Jim has a BA in Psychology from St. Ambrose University. He passed the comprehensive exam for Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in 1993 and was awarded Lifetime Certification in 2000 for his body of work in human resources. Jim served on the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce’s Workforce Advisory Council for twelve years. He was a member of the Chamber Council task force that recommended the ACT WorkKeys® program for Northeast Indiana.
