Dr.
Daryl Yost received his undergraduate degree in 1954 from
Manchester College where he graduated with a B.S. in Sociology and English. He taught in the
Richmond,
Kokomo, and
Fort Wayne Community School systems while pursuing his M.A. in Education/Counseling from
Ball State University.
Dr. Yost became the Building Administrator for Fort Wayne Community Schools in 1964 and received his Ed.D from Ball State University in 1966. He became Assistant Superintendent of Northern Wells Community Schools in 1969 and of East Allen County Schools in 1970. From 1973-1982, Dr. Yost served as the Superintendent of East Allen County Schools.
Following his career in the local school systems, Dr. Yost was Vice President for Human Resources for Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company. In 1982, he began serving at Taylor University and held a variety of senior positions until his retirement in 2003 as Executive Vice-President of the University and COO of the Fort Wayne campus. He continues working with the university as Director of Development for Taylor's WBCL radio network.
Dr. Yost has also written several publications and papers and is heavily involved in community organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Allen County, Arthur Blaising Social Service Agency, Lael Scholarship Fund, William Taylor Foundation, United Way of Grant County, Marion/Grant County Chamber of Commerce, Marion General Hospital, and Taylor University Broadcasting. Dr. Yost has also been involved in the Grant County Strategic Planning Council, Fort Wayne Quest Club, and served on the Business Advisory Council for the University of Saint Francis.
