Fort Wayne-based PearlDiver Technologies has launched a health-care data website for patients and health care professionals that is based on 1.1 billion Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act-compliant patient records, the company announced.

The website, www.pearldiverinc.com, offers free information about hospitals, procedures and diagnoses and will eventually include a consumer health-savings tool.

Information is available for more than 6,000 health-care providers nationally.

It also gives people an opportunity to purchase more detailed reports and customized consulting services from PearlDiver that offer patient outcome analysis and market intelligence.

“We’re in the business of providing actionable information to patients, hospitals and medical product suppliers,” PearlDiver CEO Robin Young said in a statement. “For the first time, all participants in the U.S. health-care system can access data from multiple sources quickly and efficiently, and find answers that were unavailable before the launch of this website.”
