SorbaShock, LLC a subsidiary of LifeLink Technologies has exclusively licensed a sub-flooring that mitigates fall-related injuries. SorbaShock™ Dual-Stiffness™ sub-flooring is placed underneath commercial vinyl or commercial carpet.  SorbaShock™ tiles are rigid during normal walking conditions but collapse from the force of a fall.  The science involves the transfer of energy after impact into SorbaShock™ which reduces energy transferred back on a person resulting in a softer fall and less chance for serious injury.  Over one third of seniors over the age of 65 fall at least once per year. SorbaShock is a force reduction sub-floor and more than just a floor system.  Current competitors attempt to reduce injury by using padded flooring, non-skid flooring, or padded mats – but current products often produce the opposite result and actually increase the rate of falls by causing toe trip hazards.
