The Global Design & Technology Center (GD&TC) building, complemented by the Center for Leadership in Advanced Manufacturing Performance (CLAMP), — will:
- Provide support for a major new Innovation Park anchor client
- Become a magnet for affiliated ventures, supply chain partners, and high technology engineering talent
- Develop and commercialize enabling technologies important to the automotive, aerospace, and defense sectors globally
- Facilitate recruitment of engineering talent from local colleges & universities (creating a localized brain gain vs. the regional brain drain)
- Encompass a footprint of 23,800 sq ft, expandable to 40,000 sq ft
- Be a single purpose, corporate location for advanced technology venture
NIIC expects to anchor the park with a “critical mass” engineering and technology center employer who will initially create at least 30 jobs at or above $70,000 annual salary per job in an area of advanced technology. Likewise, this employer will leverage over $4 million of specialized equipment, tooling, and software as part of the investment in this project. It is expected, over time, this employer will further attract supply chain companies, global partnerships, and start-up companies looking to create and jointly develop commercializable products in these targeted sectors. In addition, this Center will expand IPFW’s research capacity and community engagement.
Engineering talent is expected to be recruited locally, internships, co-ops, and capstone projects (creating a localized brain gain). Interns and engineering hires will use highly advanced state of the art design tools including [Computer Aided Gear Engineering, CAGE® Program, HyGears® Analysis Program, and 3 Dimensional Finite Element Analysis.]
Look for an announcement in the coming months on this exciting project on the Innovation Park Campus.
