September 12, 2007- Fort Wayne, IN – Glenn Borden, Regional President for 1st Source Bank in Fort Wayne, announced that 1st Source Bank will donate $150,000 to the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center for the implementation of 1st Source iCARE, a program designed to cultivate entrepreneurship in the Fort Wayne area.

The 1st Source Investment Center for the Advancement of Regional Entrepreneurship (iCARE) will foster financial literacy for entrepreneurs and business expanders through well-organized, cohesive and experiential training program and direct service access. - The Innovation Center was awarded today a $35,000 grant from the Edward M. and Mary McCrea Wilson Foundation for the establishment of a regional outreach program to high-potential high school students in Northeast Indiana for the advancement of critical thinking, experiential learning, skill building, and multi-disciplinary entrepreneurial skills and competencies.


August 15, 2007
- Through its Strengthening Organizations Initiative, the Foellinger Foundation awarded the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center a grant in the amount of $24,317 to focus on board governance training and restructuring.

Over the next 18 months, with the assistance of an outside consultant (Kathy Carrier, President and CEO of Briljent) and resources from the nationally recognized BoardSource organization (www.boardsource.org), the Innovation Center will focus on its organizational effectiveness and engage its stakeholders in a dynamic process of self-assessment, renewal and action.


August 3, 2007 - On August 3, 2007, the Innovation Center launched a special giving society and inducted two members into the society. The Mirro Society is special recognition society for donors who are clients or graduates providing lifetime giving or grant of $100,000 or more to the Center. Those clients and/or graduates achieving this level of generosity will be recognized in a society that bears the name of our visionary leader and founding Chairman of the Board – Dr. Michael J. Mirro.

On this special evening, the Innovation Center formally inducted Schwartz Biomedical and Zoom Information Systems into the society at a special recognition evening at the Summit Club and the production of Beauty & the Beast at the Arts United Civic Center. June 29, 2007 - The Innovation Center was awarded a grant for $45,600 for its Growing an Entrepreneurial Community initiative. The funding for this program was made possible with the support of the Lincoln Financial Foundation. Thanks to the Foundation for their continued financial support of our engagement and educational initiatives!
